[ s w a p ] Design an Outfit Postcard

I base most of my fashion sense on what doesn’t itch. ~Gilda Radner

The quote above it what I adhere to in my everyday sartorial choices. So for the Design an Outfit Postcard swap over at Swap-Bot, I decided to put together something comfy but chic nonetheless. I have not been as active as I have been in making swaps lately because being down with flu and getting busy with work makes it hard for meĀ  to have the time and energy. But this is one swap that I can’t just pass up.

For my postcard, I first used a blank one and splattered pink and silver acrylic paint on it. After that I brought out my Japanese fashion magazines. This was the hardest step as I couldn’t bring myself to snip away at my precious magazines. I chose pieces which caused me lesser heartache – denim shorts with suspenders, an embellished tank top, oversized plaid shirt, and black heels. I have a soft spot for heels, and I would always wear them to boost my height even if it hurts me a lot sometimes.

I’m also working on two more swaps for the month of October, and of course letters for the LetterBox Project. Hope everyone’s having a great week so far!

All my love,

Elle

[ s w a p ] Fill Me A Pencil Case

Fill Me A Pencil Case

Another swap done for JULY! This is called Fill Me A Pencil Case Swap, and as the name suggests it’s just a pencil case filled with all sorts of goodies. Doesn’t it sound exciting?

Every swap is a new experience for me, and this time around it was super fun, becauseĀ  when I was reading my partner’s profile, I felt like I was going to shop for me! Honestly, the way she describes herself and what she likes was a freaky yet fun read. I was creeped out that I could have identical interests as her.

If you look closely my package is made up of a couple of items, most of which I bought at Cat Socrates (yay for lifetime membership!), Papermarket and Stationery Island. The pencil case is made of raw linen and is filled with lots of cute items. There are Paris locale notecards, an assortment of gel pens, a deer stamp (she likes Bambi!), a set of mini clothespins, stickers and lace. I forgot to take a picture of the wrapped package though because I wrapped it in a nice lavender fabric and tied string onto it.

My package from my partner has not arrived yet, so I’m crossing fingers and toes that mine will arrive soon!

[ s w a p ] Newbie Craft Swap

Craftster Newbie Swap[one: a crocheted blackberry pouch; two: granny squares of different sizes; three: yo-yo necklace; four: assorted teas; five: guitar picks & card; five:cute bookmark]

This year might be known as the year that I went crazy on swaps! Aside from Swap-Bot , I also joined Craftster’s Newbie Swap! I am so thankful for Stacey for being my angel as my partner’s package didn’t arrive at all (for the first time in my history with Singpost!).

I love each item inside the package, the crocheted pouch for my Blackberry is just the right colour of maroon that I love. Do you notice the nice scallop patterns? It’s just beautiful.

I rarely wear accessories, maybe just the occasional earring, but I was surprised by how simple and pretty this yo-yo necklace is. I am still thinking of how and when to wear it.

P1220479I love how Stacey really made the effort to match the items she made with my profile. As I love to read, this bookmark is one-of-a-kind, I like the cute crocheted accent and the embossed glitter flower.

P1220480Joining swaps has helped me to create a lot more during the past six months of 2011, and if time allows I will still join big swaps like these.

Have a great and happy day!
