[ c r a f t e d ] DIY Stationery

Since the LetterBox Project kicked off I had to make more time to create stuff! It’s unbelievable rewarding and creatively satisfying. Today, I just want to share with you guys my first foray into creating stationery.

I started with the stuff on hand, nothing too fancy at all. I didn’t even bring out all the craft stash I have. These are just made out of magazine pages and scraps of paper, with glue and markers. I had a lot of fun with it than I thought!

Side-Eye Glance

These are actually quite easy to do! I am so glad it turned out quite pretty! I know some people can’t bear to tear or cut up their magazines, but since I tend to accumulate a lot and I am in need of more space, I think it’s better to give magazine pages a second life!

Off to brainstorm more ideas!

[ p r o j e c t ] Elleboheme Projects

Like everyone I have set a lot of goals for this year, and most of my goals focus on creating more and writing more. Last year was a year of reinforcing my friendships and relationships I have to admit it was deeply fulfilling but it left me physically drained that I didn’t craft nor write as much as I wanted to.

A few weeks ago, I was thinking of how to resurrect this blog and be more productive for the second half of 2011. So there was that awkward time where I had to stop blogging and even change my online identity from bohochick to elleboheme. I began brainstorming for a couple of projects that I could begin to work on.

Here are some of the projects that I have planned and will be blogging about so do stay tuned!
52 Weeks of Instax Project

[52 Weeks of Instax is inspired by Kaylah of the Dainty Squid and Meredith of One Sheepish Girl. I bought my Instax recently but it has yet to see a lot of action! Probably because of the gnawing fear that hits me once I realize that I took a crappy picture, and the regret of wasting a good piece of film on nothing. To face my fear and hopefully improve my snapping abilities I have started on a 52 Weeks Of Instax project.]

100 Songs to Save My Life

[ 100 Songs to Save My Life. As the quote from Peyton of One Tree Hill goes, "Music always helps, no matter what you’re going through. So, if you flunk a big test, or you had a really bad breakup, or you just miss someone so bad, it hurts, then listen to my playlist. A hundred songs to save your life. And it should help.", this project is also inspired by Peyton in that she created a list of songs as part of a time capsule for her future kid in the event that she might not live through her pregnancy. Music has always been a part of me, there are times when I would mentally choose songs to add to the soundtrack of my life while going through heartache or maybe celebrating something else. And a hundred songs...are a lot, I'm still writing the songs down.]

letterbox project

[The LetterBox Project is a perfect opportunity for me to bring in all my interests and hobbies while making friends out of strangers and being closer to my friends and family. I love how it takes being creative and loving others to create a wonderful thought out letter or a nice parcel.]

So here are just three of my long-term projects, I am still thinking of a few more that I can sustain or finish quickly in the shortest possible time. I hope that you will all support me as I document my brand new journey!

[ p r o j e c t ] The LetterBox Project

I like to make stuff, I like to write and I like to meet new people, and I like to make people smile. These things were on my mind as I was thinking of an appropriate project to start the half of 2011. Since April (or was it March?) of this year that I have joined Swap-Bot and have been really pleasantly surprised by all the creative and wonderful people I have received packages and letters from. It’s just a great feeling to look into your mailbox and find something more than junk mail or bills in it.

The LetterBox Project is a simple project born out of my budding passion for Snail Mail and especially Mail Art and also because I like making friends. So how does this project actually work? Simple enough, below is a list of the types of mail that I want to send out. You can fill up the sign-up form below (please remember to leave your email!) and indicate what type of mail you’d like to receive, and I would email you to confirm your address and given an x number of days (as sometimes STUFF happens) you would be able to receive pretty mail from me!

INSTANT GRATIFICATION

This part is easy enough choose ONE from any of the options below and I will send it to you! When filling up the LetterBox application form please clearly indicate what you want to receive choosing from the Categories and then write the specific  on the text box

POSTCARD – I like to send postcards because it’s super quick and easy to alter, write on and send. If you want me to send you a postcard please indicate whether you want to receive Any Postcard (store bought postcard) or Altered Postcard. If you want to receive a Singapore postcard, please do choose  Any Postcard – Singapore.

MAIL ART – I am still in the experimental stage (read: finding my way) through Mail Art. Here’s what I have to offer, you can choose if you want to receive either an ATC or a JOURNAL PAGE, for samples of my budding work here are photos of my past ATC swaps and photos of my journal pages.

* If you want me to send you an ATC or journal page based on a theme I am totally up for it, just write the request within the application form before you submit :)

LETTERS – If you like old-school and would love a letter, I have some nice choices for you :) Diary Letter (think Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Story Letter (I’ll send you one of the stories I wrote), or a List Letter ( I list random stuff) .

I FEEL LUCKY – not really sure what you want? Just choose “I Feel Lucky” and I will send you something that hopefully will not just surprise you but really make you smile!

FOR THE COMMITTED

I would even be happier if I could gain more pen pals and maybe sometimes swap a package! Just choose the Pen Pals or Private Swap option and I’ll get back to you ASAP!

PEN PALS – I am always open to new pen pals, if you want to correspond with me on a regular basis (I accept both email and snail mail requests) then we can be long-term pen-pals!

PRIVATE SWAPS/PACKAGES – I am open and willing to participate in private swaps as time and resources allow. It can be an ATC swap, whimsy jar swap or any other themed swap.

For more information or to sign up , please fill in the contact form!
